A Hilarious Game playing with Quantum Physics.

Cincinnatian Derek McCauley, this campaign’s organizer, reports the he and his brother were sitting, playing a game, when they got on the subject of Schrödinger’s Cat. They realized that it would be hilarious to have a conceptual Schrödinger’s Cat game, where the only rule to playing was “Don’t open the box.”

For those of us who aren’t physicists: Schrödinger’s cat is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrodinger in1935. It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagern interpretation of quantum physics applied to everyday objects. The scenario presents a fictional cat that may be simultaneously both alive and dead, a state known asa quantum superposition,  as a result of being linked to a random subatomic  event that may or may not occur. This is all explained in Wikipedia.

Schrödinger’s Cat The Game comes as a small folded box. Printed on the outside is the simple title design, a “DO NOT OPEN THE BOX” warning, and the game rules. Which are as follows:

  • If you learn what’s in the box, you lose!
  • If you NEVER open the box you win!

On the inside, a print that resembles a standard box containing either a Dead Cat 🙁 or an Alive Cat 🙂 But hopefully you will never know! Cause if you do know, you lose!

THE GOAL: To let the Cat inside exist as both DEAD and ALIVE, for as long as possible.

So get it while you can! Put the box on your table. Stare at it. Know there is a little itty bitty cat inside, but never, EVER learn whether it’s dead or alive inside.

But if you look, it’s fine. Buy two. Just incase. And if you’re totally out of control, Buy Three!
